CASE STUDY:

Dorset Coulnty Council

Chesil Cove School, Portland

Double-wammy! A brand new school, completely fitted out in time for use by the 2012 Olympic Sailing teams - and then refitted again, in accordance with Dorset County Council's school requirements!
Chesil Cove school is located within the area of Portland Harbour - the setting of the London 2012 Olympic Sailing Games. As the newly-built school had not yet been occupied, Dorset County Council made it available as the perfect location for the (wet) yachtsmen and crews to call home.

Against very tight timescales, Status Flooring installed a specific anti-slip flooring surface throughout the school, which met the safety requirements of the Olympic Committee.

Following the Games, and working closely to architect specification, a variety of flooring solutions were then installed in his brand new, state-of-the-art school - just in time for the schools official opening!

The 'Olympic' flooring was reused in local Social Housing schemes.
  • Tight timeframe ensuring readiness for 2012 Olympic Games
  • Working closely with architects and main contractors to deliver a complex project on time!
  • Many modern and attractive materials specified to suit each location of school buildings
